Land Management

Land and Estate Management is the backbone of the firm’s Totnes office and requires a thorough understanding of many important issues that affect the ownership and occupation of land. Functions carried out include day to day management of farms and estates, rent collection, renovations and maintenance work, advice on redundant buildings and development land, compensation claims, advice on milk quota and grass keep. We also represent smaller landlords on the Dartmoor Commoners Council and advise on Environmental Stewardship schemes.

In recent years wayleave payments from privatised utilities have increased considerably and the location of telecommunication beacons has been exploited by our clients.

We also undertake the work in connection with the Agricultural Holdings Act 1986 and the Agricultural Tenancies Act 1995.

Michelmore Hughes’ highly experienced and professionally qualified staff can advise with confidence and authority on all aspects of land consultancy. Contact us for details of the services we are able to offer.
